Over the past decade and a half, the Green Bay Packers were led by a future Hall of Famer at quarterback. But with Aaron Rodgers gone from the team this year, the team heard from another Hall of Fame quarterback at practice this week: Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning attended a Green Bay Packers practice this week and at the direction of head coach Matt LaFleur, he also shared a little message with the team. And from the sound of it, the message Manning shared was quite impactful to the team.

“It was great,” LaFleur said according to Pro Football Talk. “He addressed our team [about] the lessons he learned, especially as a young player, how to respond to adversity, the great teams he was on, his approach to the game. I thought it was super beneficial. You’re talking about one of the all-time greats.”

It’s certainly a big deal to have such a prominent quarterback speaking to the team, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.

It’s not clear exactly why Manning was in attendance for the team’s practice this week, although Pro Football Talk suggests it could be related to the Netflix documentary Quarterback.
