Many around the NFL world are eager to see how well star quarterback Aaron Rodgers does in his new home with the New York Jets. You can add former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos star Peyton Manning to the list of excited spectators.

Manning appeared on ESPN’s alternate broadcast of Game 1 of the 2023 NBA Finals featuring Stephen A. Smith on Thursday night. He was asked about his thoughts on Rodgers with the Jets, and he revealed that he is excited about both Rodgers and the Jets team as a whole.

“I like Aaron Rodgers to the Jets,” Manning told Stephen A. Smith. “He’s excited. I like the fact that he knows the system. He’s going to be able to play fast. I saw him recently at the Kentucky Derby; I can tell he feels rejuvenated. I like the Jets this year.

Manning is one of the few players in NFL history who knows exactly what Rodgers is heading into this season. He won a Super Bowl with the Colts before moving on to play Denver. It’s very comparable to Rodgers winning a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers and now moving on to New York.

It obviously remains to be seen how well Rodgers will play for the Jets and how much team success he has. Rodgers will certainly hope that he can have a similar impact that Manning had on the Broncos. Manning famously won his second career Super Bowl with the Broncos in 2015 before riding off into the sunset the following offseason.
