On Sunday afternoon, the Miami Dolphins clinched their spot in the 2022 NFL Playoffs with an 11-6 win over the New York Jets. But even though they won the game, they suffered a massive loss to one of their top players who now appears to be doubtful for Sunday’s Wild Card round playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert had a great game on Sunday, rushing for 71 yards on 11 carries to help his team secure the win. But according to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Miami Dolphins running back suffered a broken thumb during Sunday’s win and it seems unlikely that he will play against the Bills this week.

“Sources: #Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert suffered a broken thumb in the playoff-clinching win over the #Jets. He gained 71 yards on 11 carries and was explosive. Now, status is in doubt against the #Bills,” Rapoport said in a tweet on Monday afternoon.

Obviously, this is a huge loss for the Dolphins, who may already be missing starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who remains in concussion protocol, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.

“Mostert had 136 yards on 17 carries week 15 against the Bills (11 yards on 8 carries week 3). would be a massive loss for Miami who might not even play Tua either,” one Bills fan said on Twitter.

“This isn’t good,” DolphinsTalk.com said on Twitter.

“raheem mostert carried the ball 17 times for 136 yards vs. buffalo back in week 15. big loss for miami’s offense,” Dolphins reporter Josh Houtz said in a Tweet.

“This sucks. Don’t know if anyone in NFL is running harder than Mostert right now. He’s the favorite to win Angry Runs tomm,” NFL analyst Kyle Brandt said on Twitter.

Notching a victory against the Bills, one of the top teams in the AFC, was always going to be difficult. But without Mostert, that task got even more difficult.
