The Miami Dolphins were without rookie star running back De’Von Achane during Sunday afternoon’s game against the Carolina Panthers, but that proved to be no concern for the team as it just paved the way for a dominant performance from running back Raheem Mostert, and he’s now getting some important acknowledgement for his big game.

After a dominant performance against the Carolina Panthers this week, Raheem Mostert has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Raheem Mostert saw 17 carries for the Dolphins which he turned into 115 yards for the team, finding the end zone two times. He also found the end zone on a touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa to give him three touchdowns on the day – the most of any player in the league this week. Mostert’s monster performance helped lift the Dolphins to a 42-21 win over the Panthers.

It was a dominant showing and he was properly rewarded for it with the Player of the Week nod, and the NFL world had a lot to say about the announcement on social media as a result.

Mostert may not be the team’s top running back this season, but it’s clear that he can make plays when he’s given the chance.
