A rival executive seemingly emerged as a contender for the Las Vegas Raiders general manager job.

NFL Network reported on Tuesday that the team is pursuing Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco. This pursuit comes after eleven seasons in LA/San Diego.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news.

“Former Chargers GM Tom Telesco, who presided over one of the most talented rosters for about a decade, will interview for the vacant Raiders GM job,” Rapoport said. Rapoport reported the news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Telesco joined the Chargers back in 2013. He made that move after 15 years in the Indianapolis Colts’ organization, where Telesco served as an area scout, pro scout, the director of pro scouting, the director of player personnel, and then finally, the VP of football operations.

Telesco has also worked with the Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills.

The Raiders will be overhauling things after firing Josh McDaniels earlier this season. The team hasn’t seen the success they used to bask in. They were one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with a tremendous fanbase. But ever since their Super Bowl 37 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Raiders have proverbially fallen off a cliff.

Similarly, the Chargers are poised to regroup as well after firing Brandon Staley. They may really look different if Telesco departs the organization. It appears that might become a reality if the interview proceeds well.
