The revival of Matthew Stafford has been on full display in Los Angeles this season. In the Rams’ 29-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts, the veteran completed 27 of 40 passes (67.5 percent) for 319 yards with a touchdown and interception.

After allowing 15 unanswered points, Stafford marched the Rams down the field in overtime (eight plays, 75 yards) and finished off the four minutes and 11-second drive with a game-winning 22-yard touchdown pass to receiver Puka Nacua. He did so while hobbled with an injury, as what we now know was a hip injury that caused the veteran visible discomfort in the second half.

Following the thrilling overtime win, Stafford had an X-ray done on his hip, and according to USA Today’s Rams Wire, everything came back clean. With that being said, the expectation is that Stafford will be ready to go for the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Yeah, had a little hip contusion,” McVay said about his veteran quarterback, via Rams Wire. “We’ll be smart with him, but it should be good to go. He is a stud and obviously, we saw him gut through that yesterday, but definitely took a good shot there. We feel like he should be good to go.”

The NFL world was quick to react to Stafford’s injury announcement.

In four games this season, Stafford has completed 62 percent of his passes for 1,229 yards with three touchdowns against five interceptions. He’s thrown for at least 269 yards in each of the four games he’s played during the 2023 NFL season thus far.
