The Los Angeles Rams made a play for a talented veteran cornerback on Tuesday. After a busy day, the Rams made headlines by signing cornerback Tre’Davious White to a short-term deal.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the former Bills defensive back agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth $8.5 million.
The deal features “a max value of up to $10 million,” according to Schefter, who announced the news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
“More secondary help for the Rams,” Schefter said.

The Bills cut White after he had a successful stint in Western New York. Injuries racked up, though, and the Bills decided to part ways with him as well as a host of other players this offseason. Fortunately for White, he didn’t have to wait too long to find a new nest.
White is a former first-round pick out of LSU, where he stood out as most cornerbacks who attend LSU do. He became a First Team All-Pro selection during the 2019 season and followed that up with a Second Team nod in 2020. White is also a two-time Pro Bowler and led the NFL in interceptions during the 2019 season.
Los Angeles hopes to build off of a solid season last year, where iy made the NFL Playoffs but lost to the Detroit Lions. When healthy, acquiring a player of White’s caliber could go a long way toward improvement.
