The Los Angeles Rams brought running back and former Super Bowl champion Sony Michel.

On Tuesday, the team announced they’d brought Michel back to L.A. He played on the Rams in 2021, the year they won Super Bowl LVI in their home dwelling of SoFi Stadium. However, Michel is a two-time Super Bowl champion, as he won Super Bowl LIII with the New England Patriots.

After leaving a memorable trail behind him at Georgia, Michel entered the NFL in 2018 with the Patriots. Over the last five seasons, he’s rushed for 3,243 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. His career-high mark came in his rookie season in yards with 931. The most TDs he’s scored in a season is 7, which also came in 2019 with the Pats.

Michel spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. But since Austin Ekeler was around, he barely got any work. He only ran the ball 36 times last season for just 106 yards. So, this move for Michel will hopefully see his workload increase. In 2021, with LA, he amassed 208 carries for 845 yards and four rushing touchdowns.

It’ll be a different feel this time, though, for Michel. In 2021, he joined a Super Bowl contender. In 2023, he’ll join a team who would have had a Top 10 pick if not for a trade here and there over the years.
