It’s no secret that Richard Sherman isn’t exactly fond of Russell Wilson. Yes, they won a Super Bowl together in Seattle, but the past few years have led to some fascinating nuggets about Wilson and how he rubbed some of his teammates, including Sherman, the wrong way during his time in Seattle.

Well, Wilson is now with the Denver Broncos and Sherman is now on the set of Undisputed, having mended fences with Skip Bayless. So, anything is possible in regards to Wilson and Sherman’s relationship, but the latter is also a talking head in the media and has to do his job.

So, it didn’t exactly come as a surprise when Shemran recently made a bold claim about Wilson during a segment titled: “Are Russell Wilson’s best days behind him?

“It’s a lot of pressure on him,” Sherman said of Wilson. “This is legacy on the line at this point because you’re gonna separate the two eras in his career. You’re going to separate the time when he had the Legion of Boom. We’ll call that the seven years from when he got drafted to ‘17. The [Let] Russ cook era from ‘17 to ‘21, when he leaves Seattle. Then, you got this era in Denver, where he has the chance to cement his legacy in the biggest of ways.”

Sherman pointed out just how tough the AFC West is with the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert in the same division.

“You have to find a way to win,” Sherman added.

“Now, you got Sean Payton. You had your first year struggles” he said. “They were last in scoring, last in a lot of [things], the worst year of his career. Now, you have to find a way with a worse supporting cast. Tim Patrick, who they expected big things from, tears his Achilles. My goodness. You feel so terrible for the kid. Jerry Jeudy just pulls his hamstring…He’s losing his No. 2 and No. 3 receivers, he still has his No. 1 receiver, but that offensive line, which was an Achilles heel, is the same, if not worse.”

Sherman said that he just doesn’t see Payton being able to turn things around for Wilson with all the issues he laid out above. That certainly remains to be seen, but the odds appear to be stacked against the 34-year-old Wilson.
