The New York Jets don’t appear to be very good this season and you could say the same thing about roughly 90% of the seasons that preceded this one. However, if head coach Robert Saleh happens to read that, it appears that we’re going to go on the list of Jets doubters that he’s compiling.

Coming off a 24-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, there wasn’t much to be excited about for Jets fans. Their budding franchise quarterback is once again injured and the team struggled to do just about anything on offense until the game was already out of reach. They also had a couple of turnovers and missed kicks, all of which add up to the same old situation for the franchise.

Saleh, however, told reporters on Monday that he’s keeping receipts on anyone who doubts that the Jets will be winners soon.

“It’s going to happen,” Saleh said, via Andy Vasquez of NJ.com. “And we’re all taking receipts on all the people who continually mock and say that we ain’t going to do anything. I’m taking receipts and I’m gonna be more than happy to share them with all y’all.”

Appearing on The Michael Kay Show afterward, Saleh doubled down and said he’s taking receipts and that he can’t wait “to shove it down everyone’s throat when it comes around.”

That last quote helped create a very NSFW article title over at Pro Football Talk.

Alrighty. As you can imagine, the NFL world had some strong reactions to Saleh’s very strong statements.

Between Saleh and Falcons’ coach Arthur Smith blasting reporters, it’s been a banner week for losing coaches blaming others for their situation.
