The Denver Broncos and their fans certainly didn’t envision a 5-12 season last year when they traded for former Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson.

But that’s exactly what happened.

While we must wait a few more days to see what Wilson and the Broncos look like under new head coach Sean Payton, fans will certainly hope it looks a lot like what Deion Sanders has done with the Colorado Buffaloes.

Sanders, also in his first year coaching in Boulder, took his rejuvenated team to Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday and defeated the TCU Horned Frogs, the national champion runner-ups of last season. It was one of the best wins of the weekend coming from a team that went 1-11 last season.

The Buffaloes were propelled by quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of Dion, and two-way sensation Travis Hunter.

Hunter played more than 110 snaps. He posted 11 catches for 119 yards on offense. On defense, he notched three tackles, one interception and one pass deflection.

The kind of immediate impact from Sanders and Hunter had Broncos fans asking what they would look like in Broncos uniforms.

The CFB and NFL worlds were quick to react to the sensational performances of Sanders and Hunter:

The Broncos open their 2023 season on Sept. 10 at home against the rival Las Vegas Raiders.
