After a public contract dispute, New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley is sticking with the team that drafted him at least for another season. But Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor was not able to find an amicable solution in his case as he now seeks a trade – and Barkley is wishing him the best.

During a recent interview with Fox News, Saquon Barkley revealed that while he hasn’t been in contact with Jonathan Taylor and doesn’t know the specifics of his contract situation, he wants the best for his fellow NFL running back, who he believes is one of the best backs in the league.

“All I can say is that I know Jonathan Taylor is one of the best players in the league,” Barkley told Fox News. “I see he had a down year last year battling some injuries. But he showed, when he’s healthy, what he’s able to do and what he’s able to bring to an offense and to a team.

“Hopefully the trade is able to go through, and he’s able to go to a team that respects him and values him, and hopefully he can go out and show out and put on this year.”

The Colts gave Taylor a soft deadline of Tuesday to find a trade partner, so it will be interesting to see if a move happens by then.
