The Denver Broncos suffered an absolutely brutal loss to the New England Patriots this weekend that severely hurt their playoff hopes, and it doesn’t sound like head coach Sean Payton is very happy about it.
During his press conference on Tuesday, Sean Payton made it clear that he does not think that the Denver Broncos offense is performing well enough.
“So many times, when we look at some of that stuff, it’s self-inflicted problems,” Payton said. “That has to get cleaned up. That’s communication. That might be having to reduce — is there too much in? Right now, we’re average to below average in a lot of things offensively, and it’s not good enough.”
Payton claimed that the team needs to learn how to avoid doing things that will lose them games before even learning how to make plays that will win them games.
“I think the ongoing step is understanding how not to lose games before you learn how to win them,” Payton said. “Two-thirds of the games we see each weekend are lost before they’re ever won. We’re still learning that the hard way.”
We’ll have to see what the Broncos attempt to do the remainder of the season and during the offseason to fix this problem.
