The NFL world was hit with some absolutely blockbuster news on Wednesday morning as the Buffalo Bills decided to part ways with superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs, agreeing to trade him to the Houston Texans.
The news was first reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN who indicated that the Bills were receiving “draft-pick compensation” in return for Stefon Diggs.
“Blockbuster: Bills are finalizing a trade to send four-time Pro-Bowl WR Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for draft-pick compensation, sources tell ESPN,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

According to Schefter, the Buffalo Bills are set to receive a 2025 second-round pick via Minnesota while the Texans receive Stefon Diggs and a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick.
Obviously, it’s absolutely massive news and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

I know people hate the win-win trades and need a clear winner. But this feels like a win-win. Texans going in on Stroud's rookie year, Bills getting draft picks to get younger and rebuild the roster https://t.co/pN2J4nWbgh

The last two off-seasons for the Texans have completely transformed the franchise.
DeMeco Ryans, CJ Stroud, Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, Stefon Diggs, etc.
Houston is a top tier destination.

Well now we know what the cap space was for. My goodness. What a move.
Extremely consistent. #Texans can take the money and didn’t give up a ton. https://t.co/ydgi5KOLex

Diggs has spent the past four seasons with the Bills and has emerged as one of the most consistent and dominant wide receivers in the entire league. He has accounted for more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past six seasons.
Needless to say, it’s a pretty high-profile trade.
