It has been three seasons since we have seen former Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker in the NFL, but the three-time Pro Bowler officially called it quits on Tuesday.

The Tennessee Titans took to social media on Tuesday to break the news that Walker would be retiring from the NFL after 14 years in the league.

Walker gave a statement along with the announcement, thanking the Titans for giving him a chance to go out and play the game that he loved.

“I am honored to go out as a Titan. They gave me the opportunity to play my best football and go out there and do what I do best, and that’s to be a dog.”

Walker joined the Titans in 2013 after largely playing as a fullback for seven years with the San Francisco 49ers.

He quickly became a star for Tennessee upon his arrival and was one of the most underrated players at his position for several years.

He clearly has a lasting impact in Tennessee, and Titans fans took to social media to congratulate him on an excellent career on Tuesday.

While Walker never had the popularity of other star players during his career, his tenure with Tennessee was a prime example of how someone can revive their career if given an opportunity.

After being just a sixth-round pick with the 49ers early in his career, he certainly can look back and say that he overcame the odds to be a very impactful player throughout his NFL career.
