Earlier this week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady caused quite a stir in the NFL world when he controversially compared playing in the NFL to”deployment in the military,” raising plenty of eyebrows around the nation as the comments seemed to be making light of military service. Now, the star quarterback is addressing those comments.
During the beginning of his press conference on Thursday, Tom Brady took some time to acknowledge and apologize for his comments that many found disrespectful, saying that he made a “poor choice of words.”

“Earlier this week I made a statement about playing football and the military and it was a very poor choice of words. And I just want to express that to any sentiments out there that people may have taken it in a certain way. So I apologize,” Brady said in a video shared by Tampa Bay Buccaneers reporter Greg Auman.
Brady’s original comments compared playing in the NFL to military deployment in that it’s difficult to focus on his personal life while also trying to focus on playing in the NFL.
“I almost look at like a football season like you’re going away on deployment in the military, and it’s like, man, here I go again,” Brady said.
It’s clear Brady meant no harm by his comments, but that didn’t stop the NFL world from roasting him for it.
