When you’re an athlete in New York, you’re going to get taken care of. In this case, by another New York athlete.
Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito sat down with Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager before his game against the Philadelphia Eagles and told a story about how Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge hooked him up with a free meal.
DeVito said he saw the five-time All-Star out at dinner at a table near him. He was a little nervous to approach Judge and introduce himself, but much to his dismay, he found out Judge had taken care of his bill.
“I turned around and was like, ‘This guy knows who I am?'” DeVito said.
He later went over to chat with Judge.
That was an awesome experience,” DeVito said.
The game didn’t turn out how the rookie would have wanted.
He was replaced by Tyrod Taylor during the eventual, 33-25, loss after a tough offensive outing. So tough in fact, head coach Brian Daboll has to evaluate and review the game to make a decision on what to do next.
It’ll be an interesting decision. Since the team has been eliminated from playoff contention, it’ll be more about individual evaluation.
One thing is for sure, however. Daboll puts a lot of perspective on the quarterback position.
