Jacksonville Jaguars star quarterback Trevor Lawrence is dealing with a knee injury ahead of Thursday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints, but it sounds like we won’t know whether or not he will be able to play until just before the start of the game.
According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Trevor Lawrence will work out before the game on Thursday night to determine his status, but it’s looking like he could be a game-time decision for the team.
“Jaguars will work out quarterback Trevor Lawrence before tonight’s game to determine whether or not he can play versus the Saints with his knee sprain, per source. ‘It could easily be a game time decision,’ source added. If Lawrence cannot play, C.J. Beathard would start,” Schefter wrote in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

It’s a pretty significant announcement regarding the status of one of the top quarterbacks in the league, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.
If it's Beathard, we're gonna get a 10-7 type of game. https://t.co/wkyWy4U1FF

What does a source saying “it could easily be a game time decision” at this point even mean?? The decision has to be made in 9 hours. Either it already *is* a game time decision or this person has no inside information about whether the decision has already been made https://t.co/bCdVsWRus2

My two cents: Too much season ahead, sit Lawrence out tonight if possible. https://t.co/SnQpWLO2Cp

If he's anything less than 100%, sit him. No need to make the injury worse for one game. https://t.co/yoJhZHc1aM

We’ll have to see whether Lawrence is healthy enough to play on Thursday night or if C.J. Beathard will get the nod instead.
