The Seattle Seahawks continued their success under quarterback Geno Smith on Sunday, defeating the New York Giants in convincing fashion. Many did not expect things to go as smoothly as they have thus far in Seattle, and veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett gave his reasoning for the impressive start to the year.
Lockett detailed the selflessness of the Seahawks at the moment, and appeared to take a jab at former teammate Russell Wilson in the process.
“It’s amazing what we can accomplish when no one cares who gets the credit,” said Lockett via Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle.

Many took to social media to express their belief that Lockett’s comments appear to be indirectly talking about Russell Wilson.
Russell Wilson's former teammates talk about him in a way I have literally never seen in the NFL https://t.co/lejEUIo7S6

During Wilson’s tenure in Seattle, it always appeared that it was a constant battle between Wilson and the vaunted “Legion of Boom” defense for who deserved the credit for their team’s success.
Wilson is not a stranger to former teammates calling him out, with his beef with former Seahawks star Richard Sherman being very publicized over the years.
The Broncos are currently sitting at 3-5 with Wilson, while the Seahawks are atop the NFC West division with a 5-3 record.
Geno Smith has had one heck of a career revival this season for Seattle, and it certainly doesn’t look like Tyler Lockett is missing Wilson whatsoever on or off the field.
