Before the start of the 2023 NFL season, Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill boldly claimed that he wanted to become the first wide receiver in the history of the league to have more than 2,000 receiving yards in a single season. It was obviously quite a bold goal, but with just six games left in the season, he is well on pace.

As Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk points out, Tyreek Hill is on pace for 2,046 yards this season – which would obviously surpass the 2,000-yard mark.

“Hill has 1,324 receiving yards through 11 games, which puts him on pace for 2,046 yards in a 17-game season. The NFL record for receiving yards in a season was set by Calvin Johnson in 2012, with 1,964 receiving yards,” Smith wrote for Pro Football Talk.

“With 76 yards at Washington on Sunday, Hill will be the fifth player in NFL history to reach the 1,400-yard mark within the first 12 games of the season. The others to do it were Johnson in 2012, Lance Alworth in 1965, Charley Hennigan in 1961 and Elroy ‘Crazylegs’ Hirsch in 1951.”

It’s pretty insane news as it means Hill is on pace to do something that nobody has ever done in NFL history, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Hill obviously needs to put up some big numbers the rest of the season to accomplish his goal. But for now, he’s clearly on pace.
