The Los Angeles Rams traded veteran wideout Van Jefferson on Tuesday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Tuesday afternoon that the Rams sent the former Super Bowl champion to the Atlanta Falcons. The Rams also made a pick swap and received two draft picks from the 6th and 7th rounds in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jefferson played a part in the Rams’ Super Bowl run a few years ago, but his usage in the Rams offense has dipped of late.

The emergence of rookie star Puka Nacua and second-year receiver Tutu Atwell had made Jefferson nonexistent in the Rams’ offense.

In the first five games of the season, Jefferson has only had eight catches for 108 yards and one touchdown. And now, with the return of Cooper Kupp to the lineup, it made it even less likely that Jefferson would see a lot of playing time in the future.

Jefferson, 27, neared the end of his rookie deal, and during that time, he scored 10 touchdowns and recorded almost 1,500 receiving yards.

The Falcons could definitely use the help at wide receiver as they continue to struggle at times on offense. Atlanta is on the heels of a big win over C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. But even after the win, the team is still searching for improvements. Hopefully, acquiring Jefferson gives both the Falcons and him the jolt they each need.
