Fans fight at Chargers-Raiders game

A Los Angeles Chargers fan brutally attacked another fan during Sunday’s game at SoFi Stadium, with the entire event caught on video.

The aggressor, wearing a Justin Herbert jersey, got into an argument with a Las Vegas Raiders fan standing in front of him.

In the video, posted on X by @1ricardovargas, the Chargers fan can be seen standing and then throwing a hard right hook that connected with the Raiders’ fan’s head.

The Raiders fan stumbled but got back to his feet, at which point the Chargers fan hit him three more times before pushing him down the stairs.

Another fan then stepped in to break up the dispute.

There is no record of a police report being filed and the condition of the Raiders fan is unknown. It’s a good bet the Chargers fan did not read the “SoFi Stadium Guest Code of Conduct Policy,” which clearly states, “Refrain from unruly, disruptive, or illegal behavior. Verbally or physically harassing any person is strictly prohibited.”

The SoFi incident is just the latest example of fan misbehavior at a sporting event. Are these events becoming more common? Or are they just more visible thanks to social media? In Week 3, a brawl involving several San Francisco 49ers fans at Levi’s Stadium went viral on social media.

By the way, the Chargers won Sunday’s game, 24-17.
