The Minnesota Vikings fell to 10-3 on the season on Sunday after their loss to the Detroit Lions. Detroit won the game pretty convincingly, which has been a troubling trend for the Vikings throughout the season.

In the Vikings three losses this season, all of them have been double-digit defeats, with their latest coming in a 34-23 defeat to the Lions.

A wild stat came to light on Sunday after their loss that could certainly be troubling to many Vikings fans hoping for a successful postseason run this year.

Despite being 10-3 on the year, the Vikings have been outscored by their opponents overall on the season. Minnesota has scored 312 points on the year and given up 313.

This is the first time in NFL history that any team with this record has ever been outscored, which could undoubtedly be a problem as matchups get tougher down the stretch of the season and into the postseason.

The Vikings have won half of their games by less than a touchdown this year, which can be seen as a positive or a negative depending on how you look at things.

On one hand, it will absolutely be crucial to win close games down the stretch, and they have shown to be terrific at doing so.

However, this also means that they haven’t been winning all that convincingly, and a stroke of bad luck in a close game could be the downfall for the Minnesota Vikings this year.
