The Buffalo Bills won’t see star pass-rusher Von Miller on the field during the first month of the upcoming season. News emerged on Tuesday afternoon on Miller’s status in 2023. They will leave the former first-round pick on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, meaning he’ll miss action in the regular season.

“Buffalo is leaving Von Miller on the Physically Unable to Perform List past Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline, which means he is ineligible to be active during the first four games of the season,” ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter posted.

Miller has missed action for a significant amount of time. The Super Bowl 50 champion hurt his knee severely during the Bills’ Thanksgiving Day meeting with the Detroit Lions last season. Miller tore his ACL and has missed every game, including the playoffs. The Bills lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round last season in Buffalo amid snowy conditions. There’s no telling if Miller would have made an impact either way, but his absence has dramatically affected them.

Now, though, we know when he’ll return. He will miss the team’s first four games, which feature some decent competition. Buffalo opens against the New York Jets, then plays the Las Vegas Raiders, the Washington Commanders, and the Miami Dolphins. So they will have their star defender out for two crucial AFC East matchups and one AFC game against the Raiders.

The NFL world reacted to the news on Bills star Von Miller and his status.
