The Washington Commanders were the final team remaining without their head coach for the 2024 NFL season, but it seems like the team has now found its next head coach.

According to a report from league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Washington Commanders are hiring Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as their next head coach.

“From Dallas to D.C.: the Commanders are hiring Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as their head coach, per league sources. Quinn and Commanders’ GM Adam Peters are the two men now charged with leading Washington into the future,” Schefter wrote in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

With Quinn now taking over as the head coach of the Commanders, the next question, as Schefter points out, is how he will build his staff.

“One of the next questions will be whether Dan Quinn attempts to bring any other added Cowboys assistant coaches with him to Washington, such as defensive backs coach Al Harris or defensive line coach Aden Durde. Both could be defensive coordinator candidates if Dallas grants permission to coaches under contract,” Schefter wrote.

We’ll have to see what happens regarding the staff. But either way, Quinn will be in charge in Washington.
