The Cleveland Browns quarterback job seems to have a new starter every week due to injuries. Sadly for Browns fans, that’s not the only position with a rotating door.

The Browns are slated to travel to Miami to play the Dolphins on Sunday and will have to play without some of their key starters. Quarterback Josh McCown (collerbone), center Cameron Erving (lung bruise), defensive end Carl Nassib (hand), emerging wideout Corey Coleman (broken hand) and safety Ibraheim Campbell (hamstring) have all been ruled out for this week’s game.

Earlier on Friday, Cleveland added kicker Pat Murray to that list.

Hurt his knee. During practice. That’s brutal.

In all honesty, how does that happen? The Browns didn’t specify how Murray hurt his knee, but it’s highly unlikely it happened in any sort of full contact drill because once again Murray is a kicker.

In the mean time, Cleveland now needs to focus on getting someone to fill in for Murray. Cleveland.com reported the team is working on bringing in a kicker to play for Murray this Sunday. To make matters worse, the Cleveland.com story also pointed out that cornerback Joe Haden is questionable with a groin injury and missed the team’s Friday walk-through.

Going back to the kickers for one final point, one former college kicker is lobbying for the job on Twitter already.

To save the Browns some time, Basil last played for the Buckeyes in 2013. During his senior year, Basil nailed 90% of his field attempts going 9-for-10 with a long of 45 yards. Over his four years in college, Basil hit 78.6% (33-for-42) of his field goal attempts with his longest coming from 52 yards away. Overall, Basil connected on 98% (169-for-173) of his extra point attempts.
