The Arizona Coyotes have cut 11-year veteran Alex Galchenyuk from the team after his arrest on a hit-and-run charge but that’s not all.

Galchenyuk also made threatening comments to the arresting officer while he was being taken into custody.

He reportedly said “I’m gunna chop you and your daughter,” Galchenyuk told officers during the incident, according to the police report, adding, “One phone call and you’re all dead, your whole family, your whole bloodline is dead.”

He also mentioned his ties to Russia (where he is from) and uttered several racial slurs which he would claim was just in jest.

The Coyotes obviously didn’t take this lightly and ultimately decided to cut him after this incident, then released their own statement condemning his actions.

“We are aware of the incident involving Alex Galchenyuk and strongly condemn this type of behavior,” the Coyotes said in a statement. “Once the club was made aware of the allegations, we immediately began the process of terminating his standard player’s contract through the proper channels in conjunction with the National Hockey League.”

Reportedly, a witness told police that a white BMW hit a curb and sign and Galchenyuk got out and laid on the ground, another man who was his father, got in the driver’s side of the car, and, put his son in the passenger side and drove off. The police saw the latter part of the incident.

Galchenyuk was later booked on a misdemeanor and released.
