Colin Cowherd

Colin Cowherd doesn’t always stick to sports and the radio host entered the political realm Thursday morning with a bold statement that aligns with Joe Rogan.

Cowherd, who loves to make prophecies, declared that a “red wave” was coming with Election Day less than one week away. The self-proclaimed left-leaning sports radio host added that he can’t blame people for voting Republican.

When one of Cowherd’s Twitter followers predicted the above political prediction was going to garner criticism, the Fox Sports Radio host defended his opinion.

“Couldn’t give two Fs,” Cowherd replied. “I lean mostly left, but data clearly proved kids 18 and under were safe….Yet held out of schools. Test scores have plummeted. Suicides have risen. Chaos for parents. Just a sad reality of ignoring data. A price will be paid and hopefully, a lesson learned.”

Cowherd made it clear that his initial “don’t mess w people’s kids” line referred to the decision to shut down in-person schooling during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, believing it caused more harm than it did protect students from the virus.

The tweet from Cowherd came after Joe Rogan made the same “red wave” claim on his latest podcast episode. It’s also been forecasted by many political pundits ahead of the midterms, with the expectation that republicans may gain ground due to economic concerns.

Cowherd is not known for having the best prediction record, although he is an impressive 23-17 with NFL picks against the spread this season. Election day is next Tuesday, Nov. 8, and will prove whether Cowherd’s “red wave” forecast is correct.
