Before former U.S. President Donald Trump defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a bitter and ugly 2016 election fight, he and the Clintons were pretty friendly.

Trump recounted his friendship with fellow former U.S. President Bill Clinton during a recent interview.

“They came to my wedding,” Trump said, referring to Bill and Hillary Clinton at his 2005 wedding to Melania Trump, which was also attended by Billy Joel, Tony Bennett, George Pataki, and Rudy Giuliani.

Trump also reminisced about how he and Bill would spend time together after Clinton played at Trump National Golf Club Westchester.

“He loved that course. He was there a lot. He just loved it. He loves playing golf, and he was… better [at golf] than people think… He’s got a certain athleticism, actually.”

Trump, who was arrested last month on 34 felony counts for falsifying New York business records, shared that the two former presidents would spend hours talking about politics.

“This is before I even thought in terms of politics for myself,” he said.

The former reality star seems to still share a fondness for Bill Clinton in spite of the awful things he said about his wife on the campaign trail and since.

“I think they did a great disservice by not using him when I went against Hillary. I think that they had this unbelievable weapon known as Bill Clinton, who was a natural politician,” he said.

Trump has been linked to various other scandals and potential crimes aside from his New York issues. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday in a civil trial over claims that he raped a journalist in the 1990s and then publicly disparaged her.
