Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is in a lot of hot water — again.
This time, the former Auburn Tigers head coach is suggesting that the United States shouldn’t have elections anymore because of the recent findings of the Durham FBI report and subsequent “voter fraud,” that he claims took place in the 2020 presidential election.
Recently, special counsel John Durham, who was appointed by Donald Trump’s administration, concluded that the FBI should have never launched a full investigation into the connections between Trump’s campaign and efforts from Russia to influence the 2016 election.
Tuberville was displeased with the findings of the report and suggested that people — it’s unclear who — should go to jail because of the report from a special counsel for the United States Justice Department, who was appointed by former Attorney General William Barr.
“I can’t go [there]. I can’t even talk about it, it’s so bad,” Tuberville recently said during an appearance on NewsMax, via The Recount. “But, if people don’t go to jail for this, the American people should just stand up and say, ‘Listen, enough’s enough. Let’s don’t have elections anymore.’ I wish there was a special investigation into the voter fraud because it was outrageous what happened. But, nobody wanted to look into it because they were afraid they were going to be called out. It is what it is.”
Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) tries to sell the Durham FBI report about the Trump-Russia investigation as a smoking gun:

Those two claims seem to contradict themselves. Courts across the country have dismissed more than 50 lawsuits of alleged electoral fraud and irregularities that were presented by former President Trump and his administration. At the same time, while the Durham Report found that the FBI rushed into its investigation of the Trump-Russia probe, the report did not determine any wrongdoing by law enforcement and intelligence officials.
Instead of taking a step back and reading over the report, it sounds like Tuberville is going to double down on his claims of election fraud and that law enforcement officials presumably should be jailed.
