At this point, Taylor Swift has become as much of a staple of the 2023 NFL season as gambling and beer commercials.

Still, it remains somewhat jarring to see music’s biggest superstar continue to cross paths with those around the football world.

Such was the case on Sunday, when former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar took to X (formerly Twitter) to share multiple pictures of himself and Swift in Kansas City. Like Swift, Kosar attended the Chiefs’ 31-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, in which the “Shake it Off” singer’s rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce, caught 12 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Appearing on 92.3 The Fan’s The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima on Monday, Kosar explained that he was in Kansas City to support Kelce, who is a native of Northeast Ohio.

“I’m in Kansas City for Travis’ Operation Breakthrough and the Kelce family and Cleveland Heights, Ohio is well represented,” Kosar said. “What Travis does and what the Kelce family does with their amazing charity and what he started here in Kansas City, we’ve been looking at maybe growing it a little more. So had the honor yesterday of hanging out yesterday with the family and Taylor Swift for the game.”

As for how the pictures with Swift came about, Kosar admitted that he was the one who asked for the photos and not the other way around.

“I think my concussion issues would really be elevated if I said she was begging for a picture with the old man here,” Kosar said. “It was kind of a cool situation to be in that environment.”

Kosar — who played quarterback for the Browns from 1985-1993 — also revealed that prior to heading to Arrowhead Stadium, he remained focused on Cleveland’s 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. So much so that he neglected the opportunity to speak even more to Swift, who has now attended four of the Chiefs’ last five games.

“I’m probably completely showing my un-coolness,” Kosar said. “But what was happening during the Browns game right there — like five minutes earlier Myles Garrett jumped over the offensive lineman and blocked that field goal yesterday. I’ve been watching football for almost 50-plus years and to see that athleticism and that dominant of a performance. To be in Kansas City and be with Taylor Swift and be fixated on Myles Garrett’s athleticism probably debates some of my coolness right there. I’m making people move so I can see on the Browns game instead of focusing on talking to Taylor Swift. So maybe I have deeper concussion issues than I allude to.”
