For the second time since 2008, someone is trying to bring Knight Rider back.

Justin Lin, the director behind some of the Fast & Furious films, is looking to bring back the classic show that starred David Hasselhoff and ran from 1982-1986. This latest reboot would be online and part of a Lin’s online brand YOMYOMF.

For those who might be too young to remember, surely you at least know the theme song of this 1980s show that followed a very smart car.

The series is rumored to be starting around 2017 and will launch on Lin’s digital venture, which is focused on fandom and gaming.

In 2008, NBC tried to reboot the series, but it only lasted one season.

Considering where we’re at with web series, it seems a complete toss-up whether this will work. We’ve seen plenty of online reboots of old TV shows in recent years. The results seem to be mixed. However, for every one of these reboots, there always seems to be a cult following that is satisfied.
