For some reason, a bunch of people across the United States are haunting people by dressing up as creepy clowns. As a result, Happy Meals are being affected.

McDonald’s has announced that its famous mascot, Ronald McDonald won’t be seen by customers and fans of his big red nose as much as normal. That is until this weird clown thing passes over and people go back to their normal jobs.

“(McDonald’s is being) thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald’s participation in community events… (due to the) current climate around clown sightings in communities,” – McDonalds said in a statement

Police have been called upon to deal with some of the clown sightings in parts of the country, that’s how serious this weird craze is.

Sadly, this has now affected fast food in America as Ronald McDonald won’t be wandering about as often to put smiles on kids faces. That’s also assuming kids did in fact smile when they saw the fast food mascot.

What other resturants, companies, or TV shows that might benefit from benching their clown mascots? Great question, here’s a couple:

1. Chuck E Cheese: Okay so most of the mascots at these kid friendly restaurant arcades are oversized rats, but then again, look them up. Some of them have tons of makeup on and kind of look like clowns.

2. Disneyland Theme Parks: Obviously Mickey Mouse isn’t a clown, but there are some clown characters who walk around the parks. Then again, Mickey Mouse scares kids too so maybe he should be benched for now as well.

3. Modern Family: This one is a stretch, but one of the most popular characters on the show is Cameron and he often plays a clown. Maybe that storyline should be put on the pine for a while? Or maybe it should come up even more? The latter is more likely.
