If you have ever wanted to take your favorite Netflix shows on the go with you, even without an Internet connection, you may soon be in luck. Netflix is developing a feature that will allow subscribers to download select titles and take them on the go for offline viewing. Hallejuah!

The report of this feature comes from industry insider Dan Taitz, according to Light Reading. The suggestion is Netflix is following in the footsteps of companies like Comcast and Amazon in an effort to provide more options for their loyal customers.

“We know from our sources within the industry that Netflix is going to launch this product,” says Taitz. “My expectation is that by the end of the year Netflix will be launching download-to-go as an option for their customers.”

How this will be done remains to be seen, and it is unknown just how soon Netflix customers may be able to download episodes of Orange is the New Black, House of Cards and other originals to their devices and binge watch on long flights. Whether titles not owned by Netflix like movies in the Netflix library or original programs owned by other partners (like Disney’s Marvel Netflix series — like Luke Cage and the upcoming Iron Fist — for example) will be available is also unknown.

Netflix is already preparing to roll out having their services available more directly to Comcast customers, which will make watching items in your Netflix queue more streamlined through the X1 service provided by Comcast, but this is just another suggestion that Netflix is looking to satisfy its customers in as many ways as possible.
