NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson and his family are in mourning following the death of three family members Monday.
According to multiple reports, Johnson’s father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Terry Janway, and Johnson’s 11-year-old nephew, Dalton, were found dead in their Muskogee, Okla., home.
Police are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
The Janways are the parents of Chandra Johnson, 44, who married the NASCAR driver in 2004.
Following news of the tragedy, the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion withdrew from this weekend’s Chicago Street Race. The team issued a brief statement via Twitter, saying in part, “The Johnson family has asked for privacy at this time and no further statements will be made.”
LEGACY MOTOR CLUB has elected to withdraw the No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet from this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago.

The sports world sent condolences to the Johnson family.
So tragic. Many hugs and prayers for all.
