Hailie Deegan will compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. NBC Sports reported the news that the popular stock car driver will join the 2024 Xfinity Series through the AM Racing team.

“Deegan, who signed a multi-year deal, will drive the No. 15 Ford Mustang during her rookie season,” NBC Sports wrote. They continued: “She will have Airbox and Viva Inc. as two of her primary partners.”

Deegan raced on the off-road circuit from 2009-2019. She didn’t begin to drive on the asphalt until 2017 and emerged first in the CARS Super Late Model Tour that year. In 2018, she joined the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for Bill McAnally Racing.

Since then, she has competed in the NASCAR Truck Series for the past few years. Deegan has recorded one race on the NASCAR Xfinity Series. She raced in the 2022 Alsco Uniforms 302 on October 15, 2022, and placed 13th.

Over the years, Deegan has come under fire for several controversies, making her pretty widely known. She once referred to COVID-19 as a “hoax” in 2020. But despite that, she’s been named the NASCAR Truck Series’ Most Popular Driver two times in her career.

The global director for Ford Performance Motorsports, Mark Rushbrook, said of Deegan joining the team, “We are excited to see Hailie continuing to advance her career by running full-time with AM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024,” via NBC Sports.

The NASCAR world had plenty to say over the big news on Hailie Deegan.
