Last week, NASCAR levied a huge penalty against Ryan Blaney and his crew. However, they’re not just going to accept it.

On Tuesday, NASCAR announced it was suspending Team Penske crew chief Jonathan Hassler, jackman Graham Stoddard and rear tire changer Zachary Price for the next four races over rules violations. Blaney’s No. 12 Ford’s left-rear wheel came loose and rolled down pit road as he left his pit stall after a stop on lap 93 of the Bass Pro Shops Night Race. Blaney’s

However, Blaney’s team has decided to appeal the suspension, per Bob Pockrass. The good news for Blaney is that because they’re in the appeal process, his suspended crew members will be available for Sunday’s Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

If the penalty stands, Hassler and the other crew members could miss most of the remaining NASCAR season. As of now, they are in the final transfer spot in the second round of the playoffs. He is tied with Denny Hamlin and Christoper Bell with 3, 013.

Blaney won at Texas back in May, so he is very familiar with the track, and having his crew back at full force may make a huge difference Sunday afternoon. Blaney will probably find out sometime next week before the following race if the suspensions will be upheld.
