Former U.S. Men’s National Team coach Bruce Arena is in hot water after horrible allegations that he made insensitive remarks.

ESPN reported on Tuesday that Arena, the coach for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, was placed on administrative leave. According to the ESPN report, MLS opened an investigation into the former coach after he allegedly made “insensitive and inappropriate remarks.”

Thus far, there are no details about the remarks, as the report did not include them. MLS and the Revolution both issued statements that read about the same.

MLS’ statement read, according to ESPN, “New England Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena has been placed on administrative leave pending a review into allegations that he made insensitive and inappropriate remarks.”

Then, the Revolution’s statement read, “The New England Revolution organization has placed Coach Arena on administrative leave as a result of an ongoing investigation being conducted by Major League Soccer into allegations of insensitive and inappropriate remarks. The organization takes any allegations of workplace misconduct extremely seriously and is working closely with the League and fully cooperating with its investigation.”

Arena coached the USMNT from 1998-2006, as he was at the helm for all three U.S. World Cup appearances. Throughout his coaching career, he’s been head coach of four MLS teams: the Revolution, D.C. United, the New York Red Bulls, and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Arena then coached the USMNT again from 2016-17. As a head coach, he’s 406-209-211.
