It’s pretty common for sports arenas and stadiums to also double as concert venues for top musical acts. But unfortunately, a recent Shania Twain concert at Nashville SC’s Geodis Park led to quite a hefty repair bill when all was said and done.
Back in June of 2023, Shania Twain hosted a concert at Geodis Park, marking the first time the stadium had ever played host to a musical act. But unfortunately for Nashville SC, the concert did quite a bit of damage to the playing surface.
During a Metro Sports Authority meeting last week, Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre revealed that the concert ultimately caused $350,000 in damage to the turf as the team had to replace the entire playing surface.
“We tried to tell the promoter and other people about the integrity of the pitch and how it should be managed, and we ended up with the $350,000 replacement of the field,” Ayre during the meeting, according to NewsChannel 5 in Nashville.
It’s pretty brutal news that the superstar musical act caused that much damage to the playing surface of the soccer venue, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.
No @NashvilleSC , that's not your bill why wasn't @ShaniaTwain billed for it?

We knew she’d “rip it up!” Maybe go with a “lightly shred it” directive next time?

It was surely a great show, but it’s obviously a pretty hefty repair bill as a result.
