Soccer is called “The Beautiful Game” but what happened at a game in Argentina was anything but. This was one for the “so bad, it’s good” category.

At an Argentine Primera División game, home team Argentinos Juniors scored late to go up 1-0. In the first minute of stoppage time, Newell’s Old Boys were playing out of their goal and looking for the equalizer. An error from Newell’s goalkeeper and defender gifted Nicolás Reniero an open net and a chance to double the lead. Then, he decided to do one better in the mistake department as he blasted the shot over the goal.

I wouldn’t blame anyone if they thought that there was some match fixing shenanigans going on but it very well seemed like a bunch of increasingly calamitous mistakes from both teams.

Luckily for Reniero, it was no harm no foul as Argentinos held on and won 1-0.
