World Series of Poker cheating

A huge cheating scandal has reportedly rocked the World Series of Poker.

TotalProSports reported that Prague national Martin Kabrhel was accused by one player in the World Series of Poker of cheating. Pro poker player Dan Smith could be heard telling Kabrhel that he hopes he’s barred from the competition and accused him of cheating.

“Dan Smith had some choice words for Martin Kabrhel after his elimination from the $250,000 Super High Roller Bowl,” PokerGO tweeted.

Smith continued and said that the poker player’s antics were “the worst of anyone” he’s played with. He said that the others were totally fine to play with, implying that Kabrhel was a particularly rotten apple. Kabrhel repeatedly downplayed the accusations while Smith made them.

What’s most interesting is that after the accusation was made, Hayley Hanna (@VegasHayls) agreed with Smith. “Martin should be banned. He has a history of repeatedly marking cards to try to cheat and everyone in the high roller community knows it.”

Kabrhel didn’t wind up winning the event. Instead, the winner was Chris Brewer, who pocketed over $5 million in winnings.

But obviously, the cheating accusations were the big stir here. The iciness between Smith and Kabrhel made for a dramatic moment. Whether anything will come of it? Well, that’s what we’ll have to wait and see. But based on the reaction, some were not surprised.
