There's a lot more to the backlash over the Astros' sign-stealing saga than "the way society has evolved," but that's how MLB commissioner Rob Manfred started an answer about it. He did apologize for calling the Commissioner's Trophy "a piece of metal," though.

MLB’s Astros investigation “could expand” after The Athletic’s allegations of 2017 electronic sign-stealing

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal and Evan Drellich reported that four people with the Astros in 2017, including pitcher Mike Fiers, confirmed the team used electronic aids (a center-field camera hooked to a TV near the dugout) to steal signs that year.
