While sports fans know Rex Chapman from his time with the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team and his NBA career, he’s carved out a new role for himself in social media, specifically for his Twitter account. However, one tweet in particular on Thursday had many in the sports world wondering if Rex could chill out for a little bit.

Wednesday evening, Chapman launched into a Twitter thread defense of Nancy and Paul Pelosi as they deal with unsubstantiated and false rumors from conservative circles over the home invasion attack that put Paul in the hospital last week. It’s been a particularly disgusting line of conspiracy theories, even by conservative standards, so it’s understandable that Chapman and others would want to stand up for the couple.

Chapman’s thread started around a discussion involving Elon Musk and how false statements and conspiracy theories are thriving on Twitter since he finalized his purchase of it. He then launched into a defense of the Pelosis, which is all well and good. However, the former NBA player lost the thread a little bit when he suddenly got super-horny for the Speaker of the House.

“I love Nancy Pelosi,” wrote Chapman. “Full disclosure Like huge crush. Huge. From way back. Beautiful yea. But big brain. Big big brain. Huge confidence. Sexy personified.”

I mean, look, there’s nothing wrong with saying you have a crush on someone, and this isn’t a referendum on Nancy Pelosi, but many in the sports world and beyond could not get past how fast Chapman went from “I support these people” to describing her as “sexy personified.”

And while she’s not in the sports world, per se, Brandy speaks for all of us.
