WWE made a huge announcement for their May premium live event. WWE Backlash will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Bad Bunny will host.

The multi-time Grammy Award-winning artist is one of the top music performers today, and he’s excited that WWE is bringing a premium live event/pay-per-view back to his native Puerto Rico for the first time since 2005.

“In 2005 when I was a kid, I wasn’t able to attend New Year’s Revolution at el Coliseo,” said Bad Bunny. “Finally, 18 years later WWE returns to the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”

Among the many celebrity performers who have competed in WWE, Bad Bunny is arguably the most talented to get in the ring. Despite not having any experience before, Bad Bunny trained for months in preparation for his match at WrestleMania 37. There, Bad Bunny and Damian Priest defeated The Miz and John Morrison, with Bad Bunny holding his own against the pro wrestling vets. Bad Bunny competed in the Royal Rumble that next year and was one of the final five before being eliminated by Brock Lesnar.

Just like when WWE went to Wales last year, the atmosphere in Puerto Rico should be incredible. WWE does shows in Puerto Rico, but it’s been nearly 20 years since they had a premium live event such as this. It will be the place to be on May 6.
