The Tennessee Titans ownership has not been in the best of hands since Bud Adams died back in 2013. Current owner Amy Adams Strunk (Bud’s daughter) recently said that she felt the ownership structure would be resolved soon, but it doesn’t appear to be the case.

ProFootballTalk is reporting a source as having told them that the situation is still “a mess,” and that the NFL could force a sale.

The problem surfaced when Bud Adams spread the ownership of the team across his family as opposed to a single individual. The three family members involved have been unable to come to a resolution that would allow one person to control the team in the future.

While there’s three sides to the argument, the ownership of the team is spread across five people. Strunk owns 33 percent of the team. Her sister Susie owns her own 33 precent share. Bud Adams’ grandson, Kenneth Adams IV, owns 11 percent, along with his mother, and his brother, who also both control 11 percent apiece.

Strunk told the Tennessean this weekend, “I think they understand that we’re moving towards a resolution of any issues they have with it,” Strunk said. “I think we’re very close, and I’m going to be here. I feel like I am the controlling owner, and I’m just thinking that it’s going to be soon that all this is put behind us.”

She notably did not attend the meetings in Houston for the Los Angeles relocation, but says that she did not get grief for her absence. “I never really honestly heard anything like that,” Strunk told the Tennessean. “Certainly not from any other owners, because I’m sure they understood that we had some important business that we were trying to take care of. I think they all understood.”

It appears that Strunk would like to keep her control over the franchise, and hasn’t faced any backlash or criticism from other owners, which certainly works in her favor.
