It’s been a great couple of days with baseball/football-style throws in the basketball world.

There was the incredible 88-foot pass that led to Northwestern’s game-winning layup over Michigan yesterday, which likely secured the Wildcats’ first-ever NCAA Tournament berth.

And tonight at the Moda Center in Portland, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Taj Gibson — just acquired in a trade with the Chicago Bulls last week — made intercepted a pass and made an absolutely ridiculous shot to end the first half.

Gibson threw a hail mary, and the ball was so high that it disappeared from the top of TNT’s camera view, before beautifully dropping into the hoop:
