PITTSBURGH, PA – APRIL 12: Nick Bonino #13 of the Pittsburgh Penguins celebrates his second-period goal with teammates while playing the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game One of the Eastern Conference First Round during the 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at PPG Paints Arena on April 12, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Getting stabbed in the head with a screwdriver wasn’t enough to sideline one Pittsburgh Penguins fan from watching his team play on Wednesday night.

In an absurd story, the Guardian reports a 43-year-old Pittsburgh man was stabbed at his City of Steel Auto Detail shop last night after getting into a verbal altercation with a 25-year-old. Despite the wound, the man refused to go to the hospital, instead opting to watch the Penguins take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Thankfully, the man went to the hospital after the incident. But, while some might view the stabbing as another reason to brag “hockey players and its fans are so tough,” it’s pretty stupid the man decided to wait until after the game to get checked out.

I mean, it was Game 1 against the Blue Jackets. If it was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, then maybe, I’d understand his decision-making. He must be one hell of a dedicated Penguins fan. Plus, the Pens won, so good decision? Hardly.

Perhaps the worst part of the man getting stabbed aside from the actual stabbing itself is the memes that are going to come out of this. “Miami Heat fan leave Game Six before the thrilling comeback, but Pittsburgh fan literally stabbed in the head and continues watching the first round of NHL playoffs.” I guess it’s good this wasn’t a player, otherwise, the LeBron-cramp memes would have been in full effect.

Personally, I suggest the next time the man is seriously injured (which a head stabbing would qualify as), he should seek medical advice immediately. But, hey, that’s just my opinion, man.
