Ben Affleck is one of the most famous current actors in the business. Batman is one of the most famous superheroes of all time. With Ben Affleck the world’s current Batman, naturally people talk about them simultaneously and constantly. As a result, Affleck is getting annoyed by all the Batman talk.
Well, hate to break it to you, Ben, but the world isn’t going to just stop talking about you and Batman together.

“Oh my god it’s such a pain in the ass. It’s like every time I mention Batman it gets this huge clickbait. When I was doing this movie (Live By Night) it took me two years to get it together, but nobody ever asked me where’s Live By Night you know,” Affleck said. “They asked me where’s Batman Batman Batman. Batman is coming along it’s going to be great we are going to make something really special. We are going to take the time to do it right, we’re going to do it good, the right way, and the fans are going to love it.”
Well at least Affleck truly admitted a Batman movie starring him is coming!
Part of me gets it. Affleck is trying to establish himself as a solid director, although he already has Argo, The Town, and Gone Baby Gone under his belt so it’s not like Live By Night is his directorial debut.
Recently on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Affleck however did mention an interesting note about his directing career, the next Batman movie, and more all in one soundbite. (The quote we are referencing begins after Kimmel’s question at 8:05.)

“I’m gonna direct the next ‘Batman.’ We’re workin’ on it. It’s one of those things that’s really frustrating because, like with ‘Live by Night,’ it took me a year and a half to write it and get it ready and I worked really hard. It’s just nobody gave a sh–. No one was like ‘Where’s ‘Live by Night!’? But with ‘Batman,’ I keep getting the, like, ‘Where’s the fu–ing Batman?!’ and I’m, like, ‘Bro, I’m workin’, give me a second!”
Oh okay, got it; you’re workin’ on it, but don’t want people asking about it!
The thing is, superhero movies have been — and currently are — the IT movies in Hollywood in terms of money. Since 2010, 11 of the top 15 highest grossing superhero movies ever have come out. That’s led by The Avengers, which came out in 2012 and brought in $1.52 billion at the box office.
No matter how much Affleck wants people to stop asking him about Batman, they’ll continue to do just that. After all, the last three Batman movies to come out are considered three of the best of all time thanks to Christopher Nolan.
