Tom Brady

Al Michels, the Republican gubernatorial nominee of Wisconsin, recently revealed that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Republican Florida governor Ron DeSantis text each other, the New York Times reported Monday.

Michels was speaking to the Lake Country Patriots, a far-right group. Michels took DeSantis to a Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field, to which DeSantis had never been.

While watching the game, DeSantis revealed that he was text messaging Brady after asking how to spell “Lambeau.”

Michels joked that he hoped to text with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers if he won the governorship.

Brady, in the past, has made statements in support of former United States president Donald Trump.

Needless to say, the NFL world was quick to react to news of Brady’s newest reported political friendship.

“What if the texts between Tom Brady and Desantis are just family guy memes,” Maris Kabas tweeted.

“This is as bad as Kerry asking for a cheesesteak with Swiss in Philly,” George Conway wrote.

“How do you spell Lambeau?” will make for some interesting 2024 Wisconsin GOP primary mail,” Matt Dixon said.

“Tom Brady retired after the Falcons super bowl this has to be another guy,” Emily Gorcenski said.

“I’ll be honest – this was NOT the headline I was expecting this debate day,” said Jay O’Brien.

Brady and the Buccaneers, fresh off a surprising loss to the Carolina Panthers, are next in action Thursday when they host the Baltimore Ravens.
