The good news continues for Foster Moreau.
After the free-agent tight end revealed in March that he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
During a sit-down interview with Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan, Moreau said his cancer had reached, stage 2, but it isn’t progressing at a rapid rate.
“It’s at stage 2, so it’s spread from the initial location,” Moreau said. “But it appears to be a slow spread and we should be able to get rid of all of it.”
The way Moreau discovered the diagnoses was pretty unbelievable.
While taking a physical with the New Orleans Saints during his first-ever free agency, he learned he had cancer.
He took to social media to say he would be stepping away from football to beat it.
at this time to fight a new opponent: Cancer. I’m grateful for the support and thankful for people who have stood firm with me. There hasn’t been a single step I’ve taken without hundreds of people lighting the path before me, and I will continue to seek their guidance. (2/3)

The physical had Dr. John Amoss (Saints team physician) approach Moreau to discuss a noticed abnormality.
“He sat me down and he goes, ‘You’ve heard of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, right?’ And I say, ‘Yeah,'” Moreau said. “And he goes, ‘OK, well, from the tests that we see, that could be a strong possibility.'”
He’s preparing for this fight just as he would facing an opponent in the game. There’s no alternative.
“There’s no other way to look at it, right? So I’m preparing for my opponent, right?” Moreau said. “Hodgkin’s lymphoma, chemotherapy, I’m preparing for being on an IV, for six, seven, eight hours. Whatever it takes, right? Because I mean, there’s no other option. There’s no option.”
“You only have a finite amount of time on this Earth,” Moreau added. “For me, I’m gonna make it count. And right now, making it count is whuppin’ up on cancer’s butt.”
Moreau was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas [Oakland] Raiders. Across four seasons, he averaged 12.2 yards per reception and tallied 12 touchdowns.
